Martin Edward Hall
June 27, 1926 - June 20, 2013
Martin was born June 27, 1926 in Guelph Ontario, and passed away peacefully June 20, 2013 one week before his 87th birthday, in Pickering, Ontario after a lengthy illness. Husband to Elsie Theadora “Dora” Hall (nee Weidenhammer), who predeceased him in 2012. Survived and sadly missed by children Barb and David (Lina), both of Ajax, and grandchildren Benjamin, Rachel and Samantha, sisters Dorothy Nicolson (Nick, deceased) and Helen Hall, and brother Raymond (Prue). Predeceased by parents Margaret Grace Hall (nee Martin) and Edward Robert Hall. Much loved uncle to his nieces and nephews and their families.
Martin was a teacher at Seneca College and Honeywell Canada for many years, and an intelligent man to the end. His guidance, advice and wry sense of humour will be missed by all. He enjoyed listening to classical music, and lived his passion by becoming an accomplished pianist. As per his wishes, no visitation or funeral will be held. Memorial service details below. A private interment ceremony will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be given to a favourite charity in his memory by clicking on the "Donations" icon below.
The family wishes to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and PSWs at Bay Ridges Long Term Care Centre for their exemplary medical and comfort care. Special thanks to afternoon nurse Bill Russell, who became his best friend, muse, and confidante.
