It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Anthony Chase, who left us on Tuesday September 2nd 2025, at the age of 77. To know Mark was to know the joy of a perfectly cooked meal, the excitement of a game-winning play, and the warmth of a truly generous heart.
His journey began in the beautiful island nation of Barbados on Sunday August 1st 1948, and he carried the sun of his homeland with him in his vibrant spirit. While he built a dedicated and proud career in the automotive industry, his true calling was bringing people together. He was a natural chef and a skilled bartender whose greatest joy was found in hospitality. His home was the ultimate gathering place, and his legendary sporting event parties were a testament to his love for good food, good company, and the thrill of the game.
An avid sportsman, Mark had a competitive but joyful spirit. He was a dedicated gym-goer and an undisputed champion on the squash court, a place where his skill was simply unbeatable. He also found peace and tranquility by the water, with a fishing rod in his hand.
Above all his accomplishments and passions, his greatest pride and most important role was that of a father. He poured his boundless energy and love into his two children, Ijeoma and Emeka, who were the center of his world. He leaves them with a legacy of love and taught them how to live with strength, passion, and a generous heart.
Please join us to celebrate his remarkable life at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, on Saturday Sept 13th from 4pm - 8pm. He wouldn't want tears, but he would love for us to share a good story in his honor.
Mark will be deeply missed, but his powerful presence and loving spirit will be forever remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
