On August 19, 2025, Marion Jean McBeath, 99 years old, passed away peacefully at Oakridges Hospice. Marion, Betty or Bub, three names all used depending with whom she was speaking at the time, was a woman of great faith and incredible generosity. Bub loved children and lived with her beloved three nieces and nephew as well as her sister Audrey and brother-in-law Donald for many years. Her devotion to the MacKenzie family will always be treasured. ‘Marion’ was also devoted to all children and she steadfastly supported many children’s charities, including World Vision, Sick Kids, and her church just to name a few. For many years, Marion or Betty served as the Sunday school Superintendent at her church and worked diligently and creatively to provide children the knowledge of God’s love.
The young MacKenzie kids shared great times with Bub, be it zoos, Santa Claus parade, Christmas shopping, Frans Restaurant, subway rides, CNE, ‘Lassie’ on tv Sunday nights, and so much more.
At 99, with a diagnosis of breast cancer and ongoing severe and unrelenting arthritic pain, Bub slipped away, peacefully knowing she would be in heaven with no more pain with her family and her Lord.
Rest in peace, Bub. You were and always will be deeply loved by the MacKenzie kids and their families and so many others.
So many of us were blessed to have you in our lives.
Until then…
