<div itemprop="description">Princis, Marija (Ilu): Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Albert Princis. Loving mother of Rena (Chris), Erik (Michelle) and Sylvia (Craig). Dear grandmother of Lara (James), Jessica Sarah, Jenny and Ryan. Great grandmother of Brigus. Predeceased by her sisters Zigrid Kazaks and Helen Saulitus. Ilu was born in Rujiena, Latvia. She fled with her family from imminent Soviet occupation to Germany, and in 1948 immigrated to Canada. Ilu worked for the CIBC and had a very successful banking career. She was a very accomplished bridge player. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren and recent great-grandchild. She also had a love for her extended family and was very interested in the lives of her nephews, their children and their grandchildren. It was so important to her to be connected with everyone's lives. <br />Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the York Cemetery and Visitation Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York (North of Sheppard Ave., West of Yonge St., 416-221-3404 on Saturday May 11th, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until Time of Service in the Chapel at 3:00 p.m. to honour Ilu's life. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society. A special thank you and appreciation to the staff at Trilogy Long Term Care Centre for their wonderful care and compassion.
