Maria Christina Stokes

Maria Christina STOKES (nee Bader)–
Passed with her loving family by her side on Thursday, November 5th, 2015 in Toronto. Predeceased by her husband Lloyd, and her sister Emma. Marie is survived by her children Annette Marie Stokes, Kenneth Michael Stokes (Rhonda), Allan James Stokes (Pierina), her grandchildren Toby, Jeffrey, Richie, Max, and her great-grandchildren Hana & Leah. Marie was successfully engaged in dressmaking and design during her life. With a keen sense of the aesthetic, Marie’s passion was visual art and she spent much of her life as an accomplished artist painting landscape and floral works. Marie was greatly influenced by economic inequity and world conflict. Believing in social and political engagement to raise awareness and contribute to world peace, she actively participated in the anti war movement. Marie sought to live by values of forgiving, kindness and respectful treatment of others.
In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Spinal Cord Research Organization is welcome www.csro.com 905-508-4000 ext 225. A Memorial will be held in the month of May 2016 and further notice will be forthcoming in April.
