After 83 wonderful years, Marian passed away peacefully on Thursday May 29th. Loving wife of 44 years to John Terry (1997) and 13 years to Doug Mackay (2013). Predeceased by her sister Marg and brother-in-law John Hawley. Cherished mom of Sue (Grant) Knowlton and Anne (Rich) Guiot. Much loved grandma of Andrew (Kate) and Jen Knowlton, Tom and Michelle Guiot. Beloved aunt of Chris (Nina), Sarah, and Matthew Hawley; and Jan (Tim) and David Stanley. Fondly remembered by Leigh (Peter) Fiske, Bill (Linda Selina) and Jim (Karen) Mackay and their families.
Marian was an elementary and special education teacher with the Toronto Board for 30 years. She was very active with volunteering and singing in numerous choirs. She loved summers at the cottage, travelling and spending time with friends and family. Marian was known by all for her generous smile and warm, caring nature.
The family wishes to thank the palliative care teams that provided wonderful support over the last year. Memorial donations to St. Mark's Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund and the Freeman Centre, North York General Hospital.
