It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Godec, who passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 94.

Maria will be forever loved and deeply missed by her devoted husband Iggy Godec, who was by her side throughout their many wonderful years together. She will be dearly remembered by her cherished nieces Anna Kierzkowska, Megan El-Abyad, Maya El-Abyad, and Valerie Torchia, along with her extended family and many friends who held her close in their hearts.

Maria is reunited in Heaven with her loving parents and family members who have gone before her. Her memory will live on in the love she shared, her generous spirit, and the strength and determination that defined her life.

She will be remembered with gratitude by all who knew her, especially for her resilience and courage as a survivor of breast cancer.

Family and Friends will be received at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE- MISSISSAUGA 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580 on Saturday, December 6, 2025, for a Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Visitation one hour prior. Entombment will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.

If so desired, donations made in Maria’s honour may be directed to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, supporting continued advancements in cancer care and research that were meaningful to her.
