<div itemprop="description"><br />Maria Esperanza Paz-Soldan (1928-2016) <br /> <br />Maria Esperanza was born in Lima, Peru on December 18, 1928. She was the middle child among eight siblings. She got married in 1953 to Hector Paz-Soldan. Together they had four children, Hector, Carlos, Kitty and Katia. The family moved around several mayor cities in Peru, including Cuzco, Iquitos, Chiclayo, as her husband was a Coronel in the Peruvian Arm Forces. <br /> <br />The family moved to Canada following Carlos and Hector who immigrated to Canada in the early 1980's, she became a Canadian citizen shortly after. <br /> <br />Maria became a grandmother in Canada to Carlos Jr. , Daniel and Mario, sons of Carlos and Patricia; Alejandro and Mariana,children of Hector and Teresa; Patrick and Jessica,children of Kitty and Robert; Nicholas and Harrison, sons of Katia and Robyn. 18 months ago, she became a great grandmother to Vera, daughter of Carlos Jr. and Lana. <br /> <br />Maria Esperanza worked as a volunteer in Peru in various charity related organizations. In Canada, she helped their kids raise her grandchildren as Family was very important for Maria Esperanza. She loved family gatherings and special occasions with her kids and grand kids. <br /> <br />She was funny and had a passion for life. Maria was raised Roman Catholic, and she was always comforted by her faith. She had always prayer cards ready to give away to anybody who needed a word of encouragement. She was always very generous, sharing and giving gifts to people. Everybody who knew her, knows how fond of Bingo she was, and how lucky she was winning the game most of the time. Maria Esperanza enjoyed singing and traveling, as well as watching soap operas and old movies. Pets were always present in her household, as she loved animals, regardless of where home was. <br /> <br />She lost her husband 24 years ago, but continue her life with enjoyment as head of the family. She was well liked and respected by friends and family, in Canada and Lima Peru. <br /> <br />She passed away after a few years of sickness, and will be sorely missed by all. <br /></div>
