Beloved wife of Napoleon Dermatas. Cherished mother of Phyllis (Jeff), Helen (Eric), and Tom (Ellie). Proud Grandmother of Cassandra, Cameron and Taylor. &nbsp;Beloved sister of Evropia (the late Nick), Tina (the late George), the late Vasiliki (the late Boris), Fani (the late Pandeli), Olimbia (Nick), Tasoula (Petro), her predeceased&nbsp;brothers, George and Chris. </p> <p> </p> <p> Born in Lofi, Greece where she spent her childhood years with her six sisters.&nbsp; At the age of 19 she journeyed for several weeks to immigrate to Toronto, Canada, where she met her husband of 45 years, Leo.&nbsp;&nbsp; Together they raised three children and spent much enjoyable time watching her grandchildren and celebrating all their milestones.&nbsp; Her door was always open to family and friends.&nbsp; She was well known for her kindness and loving spirit. Remembered for her deep dimples, contagious smile, her kind words and love to all. Maria welcomed all who crossed her path with her warm and welcoming heart. She spent many enjoyable years working at Costco as a Vault Clerk, where she made many close friends that will miss her dearly.&nbsp; Special thanks to the palliative caregivers at Revera and Acclaim Health who cared for&nbsp;her&nbsp;with such warmth, dignity and grace. </p> <p> </p> <p> You are invited to share in the creation of the memorial site by adding a condolence and any remembrances, photos, and video clips appropriate to the life of Maria Dermatas.
