Marguerite was a woman of love, patience and unwavering faith. Even in life's most difficult moments, she trusted in our Lord to protect and guide her through.
Reflecting on Marguerite’s life, she was born in Kingstown, St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Marguerite was the middle child having 8 other brothers and sisters. She was the last of her family to complete their journey on this earth.
During her teenage years Marguerite was known to play netball with an unbridled passion. After finishing school in St. Vincent, Marguerite ventured to England to study nursing. In England Marguerite married her husband of 64 years, Jerome. They went on to have 2 children, Roxanne (Carlos) and Carl (Lisa). Marguerite enjoyed spending time with her 5 grandchildren, Brionna, Christian, Byrleigh, Matthew, and Bretlyne.
After approximately a decade in England the family picked up and moved to Canada. Marguerite was now closer to some of her siblings that had taken up residence in North America. Marguerite and Jerome were active in an association that kept those that had emigrated to North America in touch with their Vincentian roots.
Margurite was very active in the church and was a member of the choir in all the churches she attended. Marguerite forged several long-lasting friendships with choir members to this day. Through these friendships, Marguerite’s boisterous laugh could often be heard filling a room. Marguerite could often be found at home tending to her flowering and gardening, all the time while singing her favourite hymns and songs.
As we come to celebrate Marguerite’s life, go forward remembering the larger-than-life smile that often was on her face.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in her honour.
