After a long illness, Mack passed away at the age of 34 in hospital with his parents, Chris and Cherie Hill, and his brother Ryan, by his side. He is deeply missed by his best friends, Kate Thornley and Andrea Draper, who spent many hours with him in his final days, his grandmother, Carol Hill and family across Ontario, in Nova Scotia and in Yukon.

Mack was a kind and generous young man, a creative force, a gifted writer and a jokester who loved to make people laugh. His favourite holiday, Halloween, allowed him to devise ghoulish costumes and decorations for the house, always one of the scariest in the neighbourhood on Halloween night. With the spirits and devils properly celebrated for another year, he would move on to Christmas, with packages arriving almost daily of things he had chosen to give people on the special day, beautifully wrapped and decorated as only he could manage. He had a passion for fashionable clothing, accessories and footwear, with an impeccable sense of colour and design.
