Kevin Frank MacLeod was a force of nature—known for his big personality, direct delivery, and deep sense of loyalty and responsibility toward the people in his life. If you were part of his trusted circle, you could always count on him to show up when it mattered most. He found great joy in giving gifts and held a special love for Christmas.
Born to Ken and Alberta (MacNevin) MacLeod, Kevin grew up primarily in Toronto with his brothers Kenneth (predeceased) and Dwayne. Kevin married Shirley (predeceased), with whom he shared a beautiful daughter, Kaitlin. Over the years, he maintained close connections with family members across the Maritimes and Ontario.
In October 2018, Kevin married Sheri and became a devoted father to Liam. He was a cherished brother-in-law to Reid (Sarah) and Meghan, and a loving son-in-law to Karen, Wayne (predeceased), Sandra, and Stan and Mary—dear friends who became family.
Kevin dedicated over 32 years of service to the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), beginning his career in September 1986 and retiring in January 2019. Known for his benevolent leadership style, sharp sense of humour, candor, and integrity, he earned the respect of colleagues and staff at every level. His love of golf and his close friendships with TTC colleagues meant he spent as much time as possible with them on the course.
Following his cancer diagnosis in 2019, Kevin faced ongoing treatments and tests with positivity and perseverance, determined to live his best possible life. Alongside Sheri and Liam, he created meaningful memories through family trips, his role as a dedicated sports dad, and the many concerts and sporting events they enjoyed together.
Kevin always believed in giving back and helping others. In 2023, he raised over $7,000 for Melanoma Canada, placing second overall in the Strides Walk fundraiser—an accomplishment that reflected both his determination and generosity.
Kevin’s legacy is one of resilience and enduring love. He will be remembered with great respect by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his beloved dogs, Iggy and Dakota.
