Surrounded by the love of his family, Gigi died peacefully on February 26, 2026, at his home at the age of 95. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Rina, his daughter Marie-Claire, and his grandson, Louis David. He is predeceased in death by his most beloved son, Fabio (d. 2002), and his dear brother, Edoardo (d. 2025). Gigi was larger than life. He had a magnetic personality, he adored his family, wore his heart on his sleeve, and was always there to help. He will be remembered for his love of poetry, opera, travel, good food and good wine, and playing guitar at family gatherings. He will be dearly missed by his niece Caterina and by his numerous cousins, family members, and friends in Canada and in Italy.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday March 15, 2026, at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, ON. M4T 2V8 (416-485-5572). Visitation from 10-11am with service to follow at 11am and refreshments at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, and if desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Michael's Hospital or to The Salvation Army.
