It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucita Balingit, affectionately known by many names — Tiger, Chee, Lucy, and to her nieces and nephews, Tita Chee. To me, Keenau Balingit, she was my Nanay — not my biological mother, but the second mother who cared for me, supported me, and loved me as her own. She passed away on December 1, 2025, at 2:49 a.m., following complications from an infection after being diagnosed with leukemia in October.
Born and raised in Manila, Philippines, Lucita was the youngest sister in her family, yet she carried a profound sense of compassion and responsibility that shaped the lives of all who knew her. Though she never married and had no children of her own, she devoted her life to her family. To her nieces and nephews, she was the ever-loving Tita Chee. To me, she was the gift of a second mother — a guiding presence who offered unconditional love, patience, and strength throughout my life.
Lucita will be remembered for her extraordinary kindness, humility, and selflessness. She lived her life in service to others, helping without hesitation and giving without expecting anything in return. Her gentle spirit, warm heart, and unwavering generosity touched countless lives and left a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire us.
She was a cherished sister, a devoted aunt, and a source of comfort and light within our family. Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her memory will remain deeply rooted in our hearts, carried forward through the love she shared so freely.
As we honor her life, we take solace in our faith and in the assurance that she now rests in the loving embrace of our Lord.
“Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die.’ In this promise, we find peace, knowing she is safe in His eternal care.” — John 11:25
