Louise Dickin
January 26, 1931 - January 13, 2015
Louise Dickin – January 25, 1931 to January 13, 2015
Following a meaningful and rewarding life, Louise Dickin passed away on January 13th at the age of 83. Her passion was caring. With determination, Louise rose to chair Public Health Nursing in North York. Louise loved organizing and running meetings and she appreciated the opportunity to advocate for her community in many ways. Whether it was with in support of new mothers in North York, friends at Christie Gardens, Deer Park United Church or the Avenue Club, Louise had a way of bringing others together. With a clever and unique sense of humour, Louise put a smile on many faces at work and throughout Moore Park. Her charitable heart showed compassion and empathy and so many were better for knowing Louise. Her Burgess cousins John, Jay, Willa, Cindy and Lynn will especially miss Louise. Edna Cacho, her caregiver, loved Louise dearly as did her friends. Proudly a descendant of Thomas Carlyle she knew that “ A loving heart is the beginning of all knowledge.” Louise’s life will be celebrated on Monday, January 26th, 11am at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre in Toronto.
