Lou Myles (Cocomile)
May 7, 1927 - July 9, 2015
The legendary icon of the men’s fashion industry, Lou Myles passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, 9th July, at Sunnybrook Hospital. Lou was the beloved and adored husband of Wendy Switzer; loving father to Kimmé (Daniel), and stepfather to Larry.
Lou was born in the heart of downtown Toronto to Joseph and Lucy Cocomile. Growing up in the 1940s and 50s, Lou’s self-made success paralleled that of the city he loved, and which he made famous as a mecca for men’s luxury lifestyle and fashion.
Our most heartfelt gratitude goes to Thelma Verzosa and Emanuel (Manny) Medeiros, whose love and support of “The King” was infinite.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Bernardo Funeral Homes; Funeral service, and a celebration of The Disegnatore’s life, will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery and Visitation Centre (entrance on east side of Mount Pleasant Road), 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., at 12:00 noon, on Sunday, 12th July 2015.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Lou Myles Memorial Funds at The Canadian Friends of Herzog Hospital, (416) 256-4222; www.herzoghospital.ca, or The Baycrest Foundation, (416) 785-2875; donations@baycrest.org
