It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna Leuk-Tung But (Lam), daughter of the late Sin Mou Lam and the late Yung Lam (Seto). Lorna passed away suddenly of natural causes, on January 27th, 2026, at the age of 78.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Kam-Wa, her daughter Priscilla (Carl Wolfe), her son Ernest, and her grandchildren Renée and Rémy. She was the sister of the late Frank Lam (Betty) (Sault St. Marie), Nancy Kwan (late Seba), Gary Lam (Ming Chu), James Lam (Alicia) (New York), and Christine Ho (Peter). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lorna was born in Kaiping, China, later moving to Hong Kong, and then to Toronto, Canada, with her family, where she lived for almost 60 years. She worked as a secretary at various companies, until she eventually settled at CIBC, where she worked for about 30 years, until her retirement in 2006. She devoted the next 15 years to caring for her grandchildren.

When she was not with her grandchildren, Lorna enjoyed travelling the globe with her husband, visiting several destinations in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Caribbean. At home, she enjoyed exploring the many restaurants and eateries of the GTA, sharing her new culinary discoveries with her friends and family.

Despite ongoing and growing illness later in her life, she was never deterred from living life to the fullest and approached each new challenge with a positive attitude.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and personal support workers who cared for Lorna during the last few years of her life. Their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care was appreciated and will not be forgotten.
