In memory of

Linda Mary Evans

April 29, 1944 -  September 17, 2025

Linda Mary Evans, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025, at the age of 81. She died peacefully and in the company of her husband at Better Living Thompson House long-term care home in Toronto, Ontario.

Born in Chesterfield, England, in 1944, Linda was the loving daughter of Eric and Ada Brown. She moved to Canada with her husband and young family in 1975, building a life defined by hard work, kindness, and a loving commitment to her family. Linda was a woman of many talents, finding success in a variety of occupations, including hairdressing, culinary arts, inventory management, and craft painting. However, throughout her life, her primary focus was always the wellness of her immediate family, relatives, and close friends. This included, as a teenager, supporting her sisters with caring for their mother, who battled illness from a relatively early age.

Linda was a woman of few words, simple pleasures and deep passions. She was a dedicated spectator of Wimbledon tennis, an avid reader of mystery books, an enthusiastic listener of CBC Radio, and someone who truly cherished a hot cup of tea. Her natural gift for kindness, her warm heart, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be profoundly missed.

Linda is survived by her husband, Bob; her sons, David (Linda) and Gareth (Bina); and her sisters, Margaret (Keith) and Gillian (the late Brian). She was a beloved grandmother to Stephen and Paul (children of David and Linda) and Robbie and Maddalin (children of Gareth and Bina).

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22nd, at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition, a short prayer service will take place between 3:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m.

A private cremation and burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Better Living at Thompson House, where Linda received unwavering and compassionate care. After clicking “donate today,” please use the drop-down menu and select Better Living at Thompson House.
