Linda lived her life with a great appreciation for family, friends, cooking and love of nature. She had a passion for cooking and trying new recipes and her family meals were made with great love and thoughtfulness. It brought her immense pleasure to share all she had.
She had a profound effect on the lives of all that came into her life including, family, friends, co-workers, and often complete strangers. She had a unique and special relationship with her niece and all of her nephews. Those relationships were cultivated with much love, support and kindness. Her beautiful and heartfelt smile, genuine openness, and care for others made her so approachable and loveable.
Her tremendous faith, hope and charity inspired many and she lived with much humility. Her positive effect on people was often indiscernible to Linda. Her joyful outlook was such an innate part of her personality. Linda was generous of spirit. She celebrated everyone’s success as much as she shared the pain of those facing adversity, all a part of the human condition.
She lived with much courage, strength and acceptance. Linda served as a model of grace even as she accepted her sudden, unexpected and tragic diagnosis. She was grateful for her time on earth and graciously accepted that it was her time to leave. Linda was even more grateful for the exceptional care, respect, and consideration she received as she spent her final weeks in palliative care. She will be missed beyond all expression of words by family and friends.
Much appreciation and thanks to Dr. Molnar and Dr. Whitehead of Women's College Hospital for their expedient response and concern; Dr. Gail Darling of Toronto General Hospital for her expert opinion, professionalism, and compassion; and a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Workentin of Toronto East General Hospital for his respect, compassion, and tenderness given to Linda and her family in her final days. We also wish to thank the entire Palliative Care Unit team at the Toronto East General Hospital for their generous care, respect, and dignity provided to Linda.
In honour of Linda and in lieu of flowers, we would kindly request donations to the Toronto East General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Donations can be made online. Donation cards will also be available at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Center.
