When Lin entered a room, everyone knew it. She had a striking presence and a personality that exuded warmth and confidence. Lin loved people and immediately embraced anyone she met and respected who they were, regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation.

Lin loved life and lived it her way, right until the end. She had the courage to delve into many careers in her life. She drove a taxi-cab, was an actress, a columnist for a major Toronto newspaper, a censor for the Ontario Film Review Board, tried her hand in politics, wrote poetry, and even created erotic art.

After a long battle with breast cancer, Lin passed away peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto on July 24, 2013, paradoxically on the same floor as the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre, which she helped found. Lin leaves us much too soon in her 63rd year.

Lin was the loving mother to Tonja, and grandmother to Avery. She is also survived by her mother Odessa Armstrong (nee Skeir), father Bromley (Marlene), siblings Bromley Jr. (Jay), Everald (Ada), Malcolm (Guylaine), Anita, Desmond (Alice), Kevin (Andrea), Lana, Karin and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
