<div itemprop="description"> <br /> <p> </p> <p> We are saddened to announce the passing of Lillian Hunter, age 86, in the early hours of February 11, 2013 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto,&nbsp;with family by her side.&nbsp; <br /> <br /> </p> <p> Lil was born in Winnipeg on March 28th, 1926 to Sarah and Max Dobruskin.&nbsp;She settled in Calgary after working as a legal secretary in San Francisco and British Columbia.&nbsp;She reveled in telling the story of being&nbsp;the first woman in Canada to ride in a helicopter. In 2007 she moved to Toronto in order to be closer to her children&nbsp;and grandchildren.&nbsp; </p> <br /> Survived by her husband of 47&nbsp;years, Jack Hunter, whom she met while skiing in Banff, together they enjoyed opera and vacationing in Hawaii and Las Vegas. She is also&nbsp;survived by daughter Leslie Hunter and her family in Toronto: husband Earl Kufner and sons Samuel (12) and Timothy (9) and by son Michael Hunter and his family in the Philadelphia area: wife Lydia, son Matthew (13) and daughter Stephanie (12) and by sister-in-law Chris Adams and brother-in-law Bob in Edmonton.
