Died peacefully on December 7, 2025 at the age of 82 at the Scarborough General Hospital.
Predeceased by Truman, her beloved husband of 51 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Winnie (Frank). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Adeline.
Born in 1943, Licia grew up in a large family and will be dearly missed by her brother Norman and her six sisters: Sau-Ping, Igraine, Yvonne, Lydia, Lillian, and Luna.
After graduating from Queen Elizabeth School in Hong Kong, Licia began a career in international banking that continued after she moved with her family to Canada in 1981. She retired from Scotiabank after spending more than 40 years in the banking industry.
Licia enjoyed reading, knitting, flower arranging, playing mahjong, and going on shopping expeditions with her sisters. She travelled frequently with her husband during their retirement and missed him dearly when he died in 2018. She held strong until her dementia set in. Although her memory faded, she continued to recognize her family members, especially her little sister Luna, till the very end.
The family thanks all the personal support workers and staff at Yee Hong Garden Terrace who cared for Licia at home in her final years, and the staff at Saints Peter and Paul Retirement Residence who supported her more recently.
RELATIVES & CLOSE FRIENDS will be received by the family at the York Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road on Saturday, December 13, 2025. Visitation from 9.15 to 10.15 am. A memorial service will be held at 10.15 am, with a reception to follow at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Yee Hong Community Wellness Foundation or to Alzheimer Society of Toronto.
