Be Happy, Be Jolly, Be Cheerful

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Patti; Lalitha who left us peacefully on October 19th, 2025. Lalitha was born on December 21st, 1936 to PK Venkateswaran and Lakshmi Iyer. She was the only sister to three brothers, Raman, Krishnan and Natarajan. Lalitha was the dear wife of the late Bhaskar Seshadri Iyer, cherished mother of Shoba and Geeta, mother in law to Bernard and Dayanand and adored grandmother of Aneesha, Trishna, Simran and Niharika.

Lalitha was a woman of strength, charisma, and grace. She had an unforgettable presence – known for her bold words, radiant smile, and beautiful singing voice that could fill any room with warmth. She loved good food, laughter and above all, her family. Her adventurous spirit and forward thinking inspired everyone around her.

Despite the challenges of early widowhood, Lalitha lived her life with courage and resilience. She raised two independent and compassionate daughters and watched with pride as her four granddaughters grew into confident young women.

Leaving India in the early 2000’s, she adapted well to life in Canada and was well ahead of her time. Lalitha believed in living authentically, and embracing change always with elegance and wit.

To know her was to love her. She touched countless hearts simply by being herself – genuinely outspoken, loving and full of LIFE. Her legacy lives on through her family, and the light she shone.

Funeral services will be held on October 24th, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Women’s Brain Health Initiative.
