Surrounded by the love of her family, Lai Kei Wong Cheung passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at North York General Hospital, at the age of 95.

Lai Kei will be lovingly remembered by her children: the late Kwok Ho (Hilda Ho), the late Kwok Ming, Kwok Leung (Sandra Chong), and Kwok Yu (Vivian Cheuk). She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jeff, Jackson, Joshua, Jocelyn, and Luther, who will cherish her memory and the values she instilled in them.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Lai Kei was the youngest of eleven siblings, growing up in a large and close-knit family. She will be deeply missed by her many nephews, nieces, and extended relatives.

A dedicated registered nurse, Lai Kei devoted 38 years of compassionate service to the Nethersole Hospital and a private clinic in Hong Kong. After immigrating to Canada, she continued to care for others by volunteering for 15 years with Carefirst Senior & Community Services Association in Toronto.

Lai Kei was also a cherished member of the North Toronto Chinese Baptist Church, attending from 1996 until her mobility was compromised. Her faith and kindness touched many lives.

A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto, ON M2N 5Z5, (416) 221-3404. Visitation will take place from 1:00–2:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow at Legend Chinese Restaurant (5 Glen Cameron Rd, Thornhill, ON) at 5:00 p.m. RSVP is appreciated.
