It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John (Kwong Chun) Kwan on August 31, 2026, at the age of 75.

John was the beloved husband of Joan and a devoted father to his three sons, Jason (Ravena), Adrian (Meghan) and Jordan (Jane). He was also a loving grandfather to Jasmine, Raeden and Emily, who brought him immense joy. He was also a steadfast brother to Peter, Choi, Kit and Stanley.

Throughout his life, John showed his love for his family and brothers through his actions. Whether it was taking hours-long drives to camps, giving 6 AM rides to work, or helping someone move, he did countless things - both big and small - without complaint or any expectation of acknowledgement. His donation of a kidney to his eldest brother was a powerful reflection of the strength and selflessness he embodied, a spirit of generosity that continues within his family today.

John was also very proud of his long-standing relationship with the Lung Kong Association, an important part of his life and his connection to the community. Over the years, the association provided him with many meaningful friendships, experiences and memories that he cherished deeply.

For the past six years, John bravely battled kidney failure and faced the challenges that came with his illness with remarkable strength and resolve. Sadly, he succumbed to complications from these illnesses.

Above all, John cherished his family. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren, playing games with them and sharing in their laughter and happiness. The time he spent with Jasmine, Raeden and Emily created memories that will be treasured by them and the entire family for years to come.

John will be remembered for his strength, selflessness, his love for his family, and the many friendships he formed throughout his life. Though he is no longer with us, his memory will live on through his wife, his sons, his grandchildren, his friends and the many people whose lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
