In Loving Memory of Kwame Raul Isaac
September 14, 1978 – May 15, 2026
With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved brother, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Kwame Raul Isaac, who departed this life on May 15, 2026, at the age of 47.
Born on September 14, 1978, in Grand Bay, Dominica, Kwame was the cherished son of Paula Isaac and treasured brother of Nadia. He spent his early years surrounded by the love of family, the strength of community, and the rich culture of his beloved homeland, the Commonwealth of Dominica. As a child, he attended Grand Bay Primary School in Dominica before immigrating to Canada in the 1990s. In Toronto, Ontario, he continued his education at the former St. Bernadette Catholic Elementary School, operated by the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Kwame will be remembered for his kind heart, his laughter and great sense of humour, his caring spirit, and his unwavering love by all he interacted with. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of basketball, baseball, and hockey.
His mother Paula and sister Nadia extend their heartfelt sympathy to all families caring for loved ones living with mental illness. They understand firsthand the emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges such journeys can bring. Navigating the realities of mental illness can be profoundly difficult and, at times, overwhelming. Yet they believe that the cost of loving transparently, faithfully, and unconditionally is always worthwhile, for God's love remains life's greatest gift and most powerful healing force.
Kwame leaves to mourn his loving mother, Paula Isaac; his devoted sister, Nadia; cherished nieces; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended relatives, and dear friends whose lives were enriched by his presence and love. He is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved sister, Akima "Kima" John; his late uncle, Orman Isaac; and his beloved grandmother, Hilda Isaac, whose love and legacy remain an enduring part of his family's story. He is lovingly remembered by his aunts Eulalie Isaac, Bernadette Isaac, Noreen Isaac, Victoria Isaac, Joan Isaac, Gloria Isaac, and Roselyn Isaac; his Uncles Claude Isaac and Micho Isaac; nieces, countless cousins, relatives, and friends across Dominica, Canada, and beyond.
Though his years with us were far too few, the love he shared, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain forever in our hearts. His life reminds us of the importance of compassion, complex family ties involving mental illness, and the enduring bonds that connect us across generations.
As we remember Kwame, we give thanks for the gift of his life and the privilege of having known and loved him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the stories we tell, the laughter we remember, and the love that perpetually remains.
Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
"Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the HEART is made better."
— Ecclesiastes 7:3
May Kwame Raul Isaac - Kwam - rest in eternal peace
