Kit Yi Chan passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the age of 61, following an 8 year battle with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She passed away at North York General Hospital, surrounded by close relatives by her side. She put up a long, courageous fight, and was supported by her loving husband Wayne Sawada and her son Kelvin Hon and daughter Rebecca Hon.

She will be deeply missed by her siblings CHAN Kwok Wai, Keith (YIU Mai Yin, Michell), CHAN Kwok Leung Alex (WONG Kwai Lai Ella), CHAN Kwok Yuen Lawrence (LAM Mei Kuen), CHAN Kwok Pui Brian (CHIU Shuk Ling), CHAN Mun Yee (KWOK Chi Hang), CHAN Kwok Chiu (CHAN HY), and CHAN Kwok Pun.

She was loved by many and will be remembered for her loving and bright personality, strong determination, and always putting others first.

The family would like to thank the caring Oncology staff at the Louise Temerty Breast Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care provided to Kit.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 4th at 11:00 am EST at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto, ON, M4T 2V8. Virtual live-streaming will also be made available for remote viewing.
