Kenneth Sidney Smith
November 11, 1950 - June 5, 2015
Born November 11, 1950 in Toronto to the late Dorothy-Wilma and John Smith. Passed away peacefully at the Scarborough General Hospital on Friday, June 5, 2015 after a lengthy battle with HSP (Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia) and Alzheimers in his 65th year. Soul mate and loving spouse to Monika Scholze. Loving brother to the late Bill. Lovingly remembered by sister-in-law Judy, niece Jenna, nephew Jack. Remembered by brother-in-law Michael Ross-Smith (Jan Schmidt). Special adoptive uncle to Jennifer and Tara and deeply missed by many longtime friends. Ken enjoyed travel, watching Wrestle Mania (debating how real it was), listening to his favourite band ACDC, playing dice/card games, entertaining with good food, with a beer in hand and friends at his side. Ken will be remembered for his sarcastic wit, infectious personality and especially that laugh. He was a kind, gentle, loving soul and was always a gentleman who will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. Many thanks to the supportive and caring team at Guildwood Extendicare and The Scarborough General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Funeral Service will be held at the PINE HILLS VISITATION CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Road (at St. Clair Ave. E.), Toronto, 416-267-8229 on Saturday, June 13th at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Spastic Paraplegia Foundation Inc.
