In memory of

Kenneth James Olson

June 6, 1963 -  March 2, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ken Olson, beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend who peacefully departed this world on March 2nd at the age of 61 after a long battle.

Born on June 6, 1963 in Brampton, Ontario. Ken was a man of integrity, loyalty and strength; whose love knew no bounds. He wore his heart on his sleeve and anyone who knew him would tell you that he was as genuine and unfiltered as they come. His love for his family and friends was unwavering and he would always have your back, no questions asked. Whether in good times or bad, he was the first to stand by your side offering support and encouragement. As a father, he provided guidance, support, wisdom, and unconditional love to April and Kyle and a little later in life James, Kristy and Alex. His legacy will live on in the memories he created, the lessons he imparted and the love he gave us all.

Ken had an immense passion for fishing, music, building, fixing and creating. He would have an idea and go straight to trying to make it come into fruition. He was unapologetically himself — unfiltered and always cracking a joke (often at just the right — or hilariously wrong — moment). He found joy in spending time with family and friends, telling stories, helping others and just being there to listen when somebody needed it. He truly touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him in both Canada and Australia.

He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Olson Sr and mother Ariel Olson. He is survived by his sister Deborah Gray; his children, April and Kyle; his grandchildren, Malakai and Zavier and his stepchildren James, Kristy and Alex. Each of them will miss his humor, his advice (solicited or not) and the way he made everyone feel like they had a place in his world.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 12th at 1pm, located at Meadowvale Cemetery, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and share stories of the many ways he impacted those around him. A webcasting will be made available beginning at 1:15p.m.- please click the link above Ken's photo after 1:15p.m.

Though he may no longer be with us, his love and strength will remain, living on in the hearts of those who loved him deeply. Ken will forever be remembered.

I’ve known Ken since public school… He was always a good guy with a great sense of humor… And crazy hair some days… We reconnected over Facebook and always sent each other kind greetings, words and comments… I am deeply saddened by his passing and truly wish he could’ve lived out his years and had the life he deserved . Rest in peace my old friend. Xxxx
