In Loving Memory of Keng Ze Cheng (1932–2025)

Keng-Ze Cheng, beloved father, grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 93, surrounded by his family in his home in Scarborough, Ontario.

Born on August 24, 1932, in Shanghai, China, Keng-Ze immigrated to Canada in 1996, where he built a life rooted in love, and generosity. In his retirement he took great joy looking after his dogs and grandkids, which he was very proud of. He was well known for his passion for cooking and his famous dishes that whole family enjoyed.
Keng-Ze, aka as Gung Gung (Grandpa in Chinese) was known for his welcoming smile, his culinary skills, and his ability to make everyone feel at home.

He is survived by his children, Peter, Daisy and Angela; his grandchildren, Hannah, and Abigail; and countless neighborhood friends who will carry her memory forward.

A celebration of Keng’s life will be held on Sunday, November 2, at 10:00 AM at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres located at 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, ON,

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Toronto Humane Society, a cause close to Keng’s heart.
His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the stories he told, and the love he gave so freely.
