It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kazem Sharifzadegan, who passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, at the age of 94.

Kazem was the beloved husband of Badri Babakhani for 65 devoted years, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.

Born the oldest of six siblings, a family in which his sister Pari was the youngest, Kazem built a distinguished life characterized by integrity and commitment. For many years, he practiced real estate law as a magistrate in Iran, a career he excelled at until his retirement. Thirty years ago, he made the selfless decision to move to Canada to reunite with his beloved children, a defining example of his limitless sacrifice for his family.

Kazem was known to all as a very pious person with an unwavering moral compass. He was exceptionally honest, pure of heart, kind, and truly never sought to hurt anyone. He earned a great deal of respect from both his Iranian and non-Iranian community for the quality of the person he was. To his seven grandchildren—Hoda, Emily, Charlotte, Daniel, Jonathan, Brandon, and Ali—he was known adoringly as Babajoon.

His life and legacy are celebrated by his devoted family. He is survived by his loving wife, Badri, and their children: Mitra (and dedicated son-in-law Chris) and Medi. He was a proud grandfather to Hoda (Sam), Emily, Charlotte, Daniel, Jonathan, Brandon, and Ali; and a proud great-grandfather to Gabriel Kazem, with a second great-grandchild soon to arrive. He is also survived by his loving sister, Pari and family.
