With heavy hearts and profound sadness, surrounded by the deep love of her family, Karen Anne Atkinson-Easton passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the age of 68, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.
For over three years, Karen faced her illness with remarkable strength, grace, and quiet determination. Even on her most difficult days, she met each moment with dignity, humour, and an unwavering love for those around her. Her resilience, bravery, and gentle spirit were an inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
Karen was the devoted and beloved wife of Donnie for nearly 52 wonderful years, a true partner in every sense, his greatest supporter, trusted confidante, and the love of his life. Together, they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering commitment.
Karen found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially the time she spent in Sauble Beach, where cherished memories were made with family and friends. In her later years, she embraced a peaceful retirement in Port Elgin, a place where she was proud to call home.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her loving family: her son Grant and his wife Kerry, and their children Trevor and Karley; her daughter Dawn and her husband Rich, and their children Avery and Will; her brother Wayne and his wife Karen; her sister Debbie and her husband Mark; and her brother Brian and his wife Glenda. Karen’s love for her family was boundless, and nothing brought her greater joy than the time spent together.
She was a devoted daughter to her late mother, Norma, her father Arthur, and her stepfather Elmer. She was also predeceased by her brothers Steve and Paul, and her sister-in-law Sharon, all of whom she held close in her heart and with whom she is now reunited.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Karen is now at peace. Her love lives on in the memories we treasure, the lessons she shared, and the deep connections she nurtured within our family. She will forever remain a guiding presence in our lives.
