Stephen Kam, 93, passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Growing up in Hong Kong and China, he made many lifelong friends in high school and university. At university, he also met his soulmate. They were happily married for 55 years and raised three daughters.
Stephen started his career as an editor but he took on different vocations over the years. He was a high school teacher of Chinese history, literature, and language. In addition, he taught Chinese language to foreign students. After moving to Canada in the 70’s, he worked for the Ontario Ministry of Education until his retirement.
Staying on top of current events was a deep passion of Stephen’s. He was an avid reader who could spend hours poring over books, newspapers, journals, and articles on his iPad. Over the years, he built up an extensive collection of books and periodicals. He also enjoyed travelling, especially after retirement. In particular, he cherished the trips he made back to Hong Kong and China to visit family and friends.
Stephen is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and sisters.
The family asks that those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to their favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
