Judith Anne Root
October 2, 1940 - August 29, 2013
Root: Judith Anne {nee Sumner} {1940-2013}
At 4:15 on August 29 following a life she described as “blessed”. Above all, Judy loved her family and will be sadly missed by her husband Chris, children Hayley {Eric}, Derek {Carol} and Vanessa {Kelvin}, her adored granddaughters Emma and Madisen, her niece Enid, her faithful canine companion “Barnaby” and her wonderful and loyal friends. As “Judy Webb” she was a popular radio personality, co-hosting “Hour Toronto Magazine” with Dave Agar and “Real Radio” with the late Fred Davis. Judy volunteered in her community and took a keen interest in events near and far. Special thanks go to the ER and Medicine staffs at Sunnybrook, especially Dr. K. Sivjee, to Dr. Pierre-Marc Legault, her Family Doctor, to Dr. David Kendal and the Palliative Care team at the Temmy Latner Centre and to Linda Marie Pacheko and all the caring Nurses from Revera. Her family will welcome you at the MOUNT PLEASANT CEMETERY VISITATION CENTRE, 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto [east gate entrance, north of St. Clair Ave., 416-485-5572] on Tuesday September 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Donations to the Toronto Humane Society or the Toronto Library Foundation, two of Judy’s favourite causes, would be appreciated.
