<div itemprop="description">&nbsp; <p> V&Auml;LITALO, Jouko Juhani </p> <p> Suddenly passed away at home on November 1, 2012. A devoted family man and devout Christian, Jouko is remembered by his loving wife Helena (nee Myrskog), and children Monica, Stephen (Yvonne), Robert (Susan) and Marianne DeKort (David). Proud &ldquo;pappa&rdquo; of Mira, James, Hannah, Hazel, Maia and Jaana. Also remembered by his 3 brothers and 7 sisters: Linnea Sunderji (Dean), Liisa Erkkil&auml; (Teuvo), Antti (Pirkko), Tapani, Leena Nyblom, Matti (Elaine), Laila McLachlan (Ken), Helina Hood (John), Hilkka, and Lilly. Born in Ylivieska, Finland in 1945, Jouko immigrated to Canada with his family in 1960 at the age of 14. A quiet man of faith who loved the simple things in life including fishing and being in nature, Jouko enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in building a legacy his family could be proud of. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends for his compassionate nature and gentle soul. </p> <p> Visitation will be held at the ELGIN MILLS VISITATION CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd.E., Richmond Hill (east of Leslie St., 905-737-1720) on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.&nbsp;&nbsp; Funeral service on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11 am at the Dickson Hill Apostolic Lutheran Church, 70 Dickson Hill Rd., Markham with interment and reception to follow.&nbsp;&nbsp; In keeping with his faith and immeasurable contributions to the church over the years, donations to the Apostolic Lutheran Church of Toronto&nbsp;are welcome in Jouko&rsquo;s memory.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /> <br /> Please share a favourite story or photo, or sign the guestbook on the pages above. </p> </div>
