Joseph Ka Hoi Wong
September 8, 1954 - August 13, 2014
Joseph Ka Hoi Wong, 59, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Toronto General Hospital. Born to two loving parents, Hsi Huang and Ching Lam, he lived most of his life in Mississauga and Toronto.
Joseph was a romantic idealist, an inspiring leader, a soldier for social justice, a selfless healer, a family pillar, a loving husband and father. As a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon, he was proficient and highly sought after, earning the utmost respect from his colleagues and patients alike. He served in leading positions for various international plastic surgery societies, as well as in editorial and teaching positions.
His desire to heal extended past medicine, and he dedicated much of his life to righting social wrongs through community service. He won over new friends to every cause he championed - his insistent charisma made him a natural community leader. He left a positive impact on many lives across the globe.
He was extremely proud and loving of his two children, Brian and Amy, and his wife of 33 years, Gaye. He is survived by his parents, three sisters, brother, nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed.
