In memory of

John Sullivan

August 18, 1957 - June 17, 2026

John Sullivan passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at Toronto General Hospital at the age of 68 after a long and courageous battle with illness.

Born and raised in Toronto, John was the youngest of eight children and grew up in a large, close-knit family. He treasured summers spent at the family cottage on Lake Couchiching in Orillia, a place that remained special to him throughout his life.

John was a talented musician who loved songwriting, singing, and playing guitar. He was also a gifted athlete and proudly played football at De La Salle College in Toronto.

Throughout his career, John worked in the construction industry, beginning as a carpenter before later founding Sullivan Homes, where he built a reputation for quality workmanship, leadership, and dedication.

Above all, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynda; his sons, John (Ashley) and Matthew; and his cherished grandchildren, Matty, Sophia, and Owen. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Liz, his brothers, Tim, Jordan, and Dillon, as well as many nieces and nephews, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

John was predeceased by his parents, Jordan and Henrietta, and by his siblings Paul-Angus, Frank, and Janet.

He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his strength, love of music, sense of humour, and the love he shared with those around him.

Cremation will take place, with a burial at Mount Hope Cemetery and a celebration of life to follow at a later date. Details will be announced once arrangements have been finalized.

Godspeed, Sully. “Turn the page!”
