With hearts full of love and deep sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of "Papou" John (Ioannis) Letros, who left us at 12:02pm on April 15, 2026, at the age of 86.
Papou, will be remembered above all for the extraordinary love he gave so freely and so completely to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He loved unconditionally and without limits. Family, friends, and even those who had only just met him felt his warmth immediately… because love was never something he held back.
His home was the most beautiful reflection of that love. His door was always open and everyone was welcome. There was never a shortage of food, drink, laughter or good company. Only an endless, joyful outpouring of Philoxenia. To gather around Papou’s table was to share far more than a meal. It was to be embraced, welcomed, and included into his family as if you had always belonged there.
Papou lived his life fully, fearlessly and without a single regret. Though he may not have measured his wealth in material things, he gave richly in every way that truly mattered. He carried a joyful, carefree spirit and loved to dance, celebrate, laugh and live his life with kefi… that Greek ‘zest for life’. He brought energy, laughter, and light into every room he entered.
He is now reunited with the great love of his life... his beloved wife Angela, after 20+ long years apart. Their love grew stronger each day even though they have been apart for so long. It is comforting to know that they are together again.
Papou's world revolved around his son Tom, daughter in law Tracy, and his cherished grandchildren Alex, Adrianna and Livvy whom he often said... "you are my life”.
He is lovingly survived by his dear siblings Stathy, Nancy, and Stavroula and his nieces and nephews, Nicki, George, Joanne, Vicky, Chris and Tommy, who looked to him as a second father.
They will all carry his memory in their hearts forever.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife Angela; his loving parents Vasiliki and Anastasios; his dear sister Joanne; his beloved daughter in law Lauren; and his little puppy Amber; all whose memory he always held with the greatest tenderness.
They are all reunited once again in God’s paradise.
Papou John's legacy is love... pure, generous, and everlasting. He was the personification of Filoxenia and Kefi. This lives on in every person he touched.
He will be profoundly missed and forever cherished. May his memory be eternal.
