John Charles Ballentyne
February 5, 1961 - April 23, 2013
BALLENTYNE, JOHN CHARLES
With sadness we announce the sudden passing of John, due to a pulmonary embolism at age 52 years, on April 23, 2013. Loving son of Donald Ballentyne and his late wife Ellen of Mississauga. Beloved brother of Patty and her husband Mike Brine of St. Marys. Dear uncle of Matt and Kim. Long time employee of Cadbury. Faithful member of All Saints Kingsway Anglican Church. Former long time summer resident of a cottage on Acton Island, Lake Muskoka.
John will be missed by his Aunt Betty Smith of Calgary and his cousins Ted, Charlotte, Kati, Tim, Jim, Joan, Stephen, David, Pete, Jan and their families.
We owe many thanks to the many people who helped us to care for John in his last week of life. Thank you to The Trillium Health Centre ER and ICU staff, the paramedics, the nurses on 5J, and the many doctors who tried to treat him. Special thanks to Dr. Michelle Mohammed for her care and kindness to John and for keeping in touch with us when we couldn't be at the hospital every day. Thank you to the staff at Applewood Landmark--especially to Santo and Mark who always looked out for John and helped him in his hour of need. Thank you also to Dr. George Foussias at CAMH, Marietta, RN of Leisureworld, and Ted and Carol Smith for also supporting John while he was in the hospital.
In lieu of flowers donations to CAMH or another charity listed on the website would be appreciated in memory of John.
