J Blair Makin
26 June 1967-15 April 2014
It is with profound sadness that the family of John Blair Makin announces his passing. He died peacefully, surrounded by close family, on 15 April 2014 at Mount Sinai hospital. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Kelly Edwards, his cherished son Jackson, step-children Danielle and Tyler, his father Murray (Diane), his brothers Bradley (Loribeth) and Murray, his aunt Joan (Joe), uncle Barry (Lynda), cousins Alison, Kathryn, Greg, and his niece Katherine. He was predeceased by his mother Marguerite.

Blair was highly respected for his knowledge and leadership in senior executive positions in telecommunications and information technology. He was recognized as a visionary and a change agent who genuinely cared about the people around him. Business associates were among his closest friends.

The happiest times throughout his life were those he shared with family and friends at Thunder Beach on Georgian Bay. He reminisced fondly and often of the summers he spent there as a youngster with his beloved Nana and Poppa, and of life’s lessons he learned from them. His passion for boating began there and that joy was magnified immensely in recent years as he was able to share it with Jackson, virtually from birth. His love for Jackson knew no bounds. Blair will be sorely missed, and warmly remembered, particularly at Thunder Beach.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Blair’s life will be held on Wednesday, April 23 at 11 am at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road (east gate entrance). For on line condolences, donations and further information please visit www.etouch.ca .
In lieu of flowers, donations to Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation will be appreciated.
