Jose "Joe" Benevides, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, at Bethell Hospice, surrounded by his sisters.

Youngest child of the late Maria Jose and Manuel Benevides. Jose will be forever cherished as an adored brother to Grace (Fernando) Ferreira, Eduarda (Antero) Branco, and Fernando (Anna Marie) Benevides and devoted uncle.

Born in Portugal, Jose came to Canada in 1970 at the age of six. He embraced his new home with a hardworking spirit and a deep love for his family. Joe found beauty in life’s simple pleasures—savoring his Tim Hortons, enjoying long scenic drives, and watching classic old movies. He was admired for his strong work ethic, his generosity, and his ability to make those around him feel valued and loved. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort to all who knew him.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Meadowvale Funeral Centre, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, with the funeral service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethell Hospice in Jose’s memory.
