Joan Rowley Mansfield
January 14, 1927 - August 28, 2014
MANSFIELD, Joan Rowley
Mum died August 28, 2014. After extending her life to the maximum, she decided it was time to fly away - a force to the last. We share this not with sadness but resignation, that the extra time we enjoyed with her has come to an end. Her children, grandchildren, friends and neighbours at Meighen Manor will miss her council, but have no shortage to reach back on. She loved her family, friends Dodie, Libby and Bev, her jazz, her cottage, her volunteering, her dearly beloved Anne and, before all, her beloved husband George. Extremely proud mother to Martha, David, Liz, Jane, Anne and Mark. Later on to Willa, Derick, Jim and Sue. Wise old Nana to Sophie, Lucy, Kate, Jamie, Maddy, Michael, Anne and Colin. Heartfelt thank you to angel Cathy and those at Meighan Manor who cared for Mum. A small, private service will be held at a later date. Mum wished that in place of flowers, those who wished could donate to Sick Kids, MS Society or to their personal favourite. There will be no tears, only reflection and laughter…or else we will catch hell from her, as we know all too well !
