Our dear mother was born in Leicester, England, July 24th 1922 to Winnie and Hugh Muir-Smith.
She served in the WRENS during WW2 and married her husband Walter Rothschild, RAF officer in 1946.
After the war they moved to Kenya where they had an amazing life with their 3 sons before immigrating to Canada in 1969.
Her long, full life of 103 years was shared by her three sons, Tony, (Eileen) Chris (Alain) and Mark (Bunny)
Her early life was blessed with a loving family including grandparents and uncles and aunts.
She often travelled back to the UK to see her mother and her treasured friends from childhood, that lasted a lifetime.
She had so many other close friends on life’s journey and many great travel adventures.
Her faith carried her through, shared by her caregivers and pastor.
She loved her rose garden and tended to her family with as much care.
She was widowed in 1998 and lived in the family home in North York with loving care from her 3 sons and so many dedicated PSWs and caregivers.
Like the Monarch butterflies she saw taking flight over the lake, her spirit is free.
She leaves her grandson Edward and granddaughter Katie (Michael) and her great
grandchildren Magnus and Madsen.
Also her nieces, Alix Heuston and family (Plattsburgh), Jane Griffith and family,(UK)
Jonathan Rosewell, nephew, and family(UK)
You will never be missed because you are never far away!
