<div itemprop="description">Jennifer Alison Hazlitt Heard- Passed away suddenly, age 28, after a tragic accident in her home on Friday, June 12, 2015. Jenn was the beloved daughter of journalists Raymond Heard and Gillian Cosgrove, of Toronto. Jenn most loved family, friends, children, cats, dolphins and doing puzzles. She was a daring and skilful surfer and skier, and treasured holidays in Kauai and at the family cottage in Bark Lake, Quebec. After sustaining a life-threatening brain injury, at age 12, she made a miraculous recovery, graduating from Branksome Hall School with honours. She then earned a B.A. Honours degree in political science and French at the University of Guelph. She was an active Young Liberal and passionate feminist, and twice met her hero, Nelson Mandela, who was a Honorary Canadian. She was very proud of her volunteer work at Toronto&rsquo;s Hospital for Sick Children. <br /> <br />Jenn will be deeply missed by her parents, half-sister Josephine Robson, husband Hugo, nieces Katharine, Helena, and nephew Thomas Robson) of London, England; half-brother Antony Heard of Ottawa; uncle Ryal and cousin Nicolas Cosgrove of Montreal; uncle Dr. Rees Cosgrove and cousins Kathryn, Priscilla, and Martha Cosgrove of Boston; uncle Anthony Heard, cousins Vicki, Janet, Dylan and Pasqua Heard, of Cape Town. Jenn will also be missed by her dear friends David, Marie and Roger Pellerin of oakville. <br /> <br />Visitation at the Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre - 375 Mount Pleasant Road, East Gate Entrance, on Wednesday, June 17th from 1:30 pm until the time of Service in our Chapel at 2:30 pm. Reception to follow in the Visitation Centre. <br /> <br />In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children Foundation, Toronto, in Jennifer Heard&rsquo;s name.</div>
