Jean "Ann" Emslie
July 10, 1935 - January 10, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean "Ann" Emslie on January 10, 2015 at the age of 79.
Jean Ann was generally known as "Ann" or "Annie Em" or "Mrs E" by friends. Her children, Peter and Lynn, will remember her as their cherished "Mum" who was always loving, patient and kind. She was her children's greatest confidante and cheerleader. Her second husband, Andy Stewart, will remember her as his "honey" and beloved soul-mate and he is grateful to have enjoyed 17 wonderful years with her. Her grandchildren, Erin and Connor, will remember her as their loving "Nana" who absolutely adored them. Ann was also the beloved sister to Colin, David and Derek Jarvis back in her homeland of England. Ann is predeceased by her first child Beverly and by her first husband John Emslie.
Ann always looked on the bright side of life, even during times of sorrow. She had a passion for ballroom dancing in her earlier years and a passion for line-dancing in her later years. She was thrilled to sit behind her "honey" Andy on their trike (three-wheeled motorcycle) as they set off to explore various parts of Canada and the United States. It seemed as if Ann and Andy were always heading off on another adventure. Ann would often see the comical side of any mishap that occurred during their trips and she would grin from ear to ear, while her eyes danced with merriment, as she gleefully shared her tales of those adventures with family and friends. Ann's enthusiasm and zest for life were a joy for all to witness.
Ann will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We hope her spirit continues to live on and that she is kicking up her heels and dancing in the afterlife.
