Jawahirlall Jaglal
June 1, 1934 - January 12, 2015
Pitaji Jawahirlall Jaglal, also known as Jeet Jaglal, was born on June 1, 1934 to parents Samdai and Machu in Albion, Guyana. Formerly lived at No. 66 Village, Corentyne Guyana, and then at 4 Flatwoods Drive in Scarborough, before moving to Markham. He was the eldest of six siblings. Pa (as he was lovingly and respectfully addressed by his family) was predeceased by Briglall, Krishna and Polo and is survived by Inda and Rajpal. Pa is survived by his devoted wife Mataji Latchmin (nee Savitree Mahadeo). He was an amazing father to his five children: Sharda (& Anand), Vimal (&Asha), Amrita (& Ushar), Virjanand (&Shinnita) and Nirmala (& Shruti). Pa was blessed with 8 grandchildren: Anil, Reshmee, Rajeev, Anoop, Kavita, Ravi, Nadia and Navin. He was a dedicated member of the Vedic Cultural Centre and lived his life according to the teachings of Swami Dayananda, the Vedas and Dr. Satish Prakashji. He was a simple man, who loved to sing from his AtmaGeet and spend time with his family.
His soul left his mortal body on January 12, 2015 and cremation will take place on January 15, 2015 at Elgin Mills Cemetery according to Vedic rites and customs.
Our Pa was and still is an incredible father in our hearts. Although he will be forever missed, we feel comforted knowing that he accomplished more than he could have dreamed in life despite the multitude of setbacks – his strength will guide us through our struggles! We pray that his next birth will be in a loving and noble home, that his early years in life will be free of the struggles he faced in this one, and that he continues to rise through his journey towards the ultimate goal of Moksha.
We thank all of you who touched our Pa’s life in any way - may these acts of kindness be returned to you with blessings. Namaste!
