<div itemprop="description"> <strong> Belray , Janet Elizabeth <br /> </strong> 19.08.1964 - 13.11.2011 <br /> <br /> In the light of the waning moon, Janet Belray (nee Murray) took her last peaceful breath on Sunday November 13, 2011.&nbsp; Loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, artist and observer of the moon&rsquo;s cycles, Janet will be forever remembered and cherished by sons Maxwell and Julian, husband Gordon Belray, mother Barbara Murray, brothers David (Sophie) Murray and Steven (Sheila) Murray, brother-in-law Don (Jessie) Bell, nephew Tyler Murray, nieces Jesse and Cassidy Murray and Sabrina and Nadia, aunt Nadine Nowlan, cousin Peter (Jackie) Nowlan, Ferris and Declan, sister-in-law Jen McMullen, Greg McMullen, uncle George Johnston of Vancouver, and cousins Deanne-Mary Johnston and Robert Johnston of Vancouver. Janet was predeceased by her much adored father George Murray, loving parent-in-laws Norman and Betty Bell, her uncle David Nowlan and her aunt Lucille Johnston. Janet attended McGill and graduated from UofT. She will be fondly remembered by her community of friends in Toronto,&nbsp; Montreal, New York and all over the world. Janet was a tireless advocate for herself and others navigating the rough waters of breast cancer treatment. Her tenacity, courage, optimism, research and mentoring have inspired so many others. Janet loved her boys more than anything else and her great spirit will live on in them. <br /> <br /> Janet was so grateful for the love and support that came pouring out of her community throughout her 7 year journey with breast cancer.&nbsp; She was forever thankful for her &ldquo;milk mamas&rdquo; who stepped in to provide breast milk for baby Julian. She was in appreciative awe of the community of parents in her neighbourhood and at Hawthorne 2 Bilingual Alternative School who tirelessly provided meals, play dates and childcare.&nbsp; Much gratitude is felt for Janet's wonderful doctor's throughout the years and finally for the compassionate care given by the staff of the Princess Margaret Hospital Palliative Care and the Kensington Hospice, especially nurse Marlissa who was a bright light in the darkest time. And above all, from Janet and her family, untold gratitude and appreciation goes out to her many super-dedicated close friends and most especially to Jenn St. Louis, Liz Noble, Michele Billung-Meyer and Pam Hammond who gave tirelessly of themselves throughout her cancer journey and , in hospital and hospice , never left her side. They truly were her &quot;angels&quot;. <br /> <br /> Friends and family are welcomed to a Visitation on Sunday Nov. 20th from 2 to 5 pm&nbsp; at Mount Pleasant Visitation Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Road (east gate entrance),Toronto, 416-485-5572.&nbsp; A private family funeral will have taken place.&nbsp; A memorial celebration of Janet's life is being planned for around the full moon in early January. Details to follow.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kensington Hospice, Rethink Breast Cancer, or to an Education trust fund set up for Maxwell and Julian Belray. <br /> <p> </p> </div>
