It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dearest friend James Kevin Irons (known to his friends as Tin Man) at the age of 63, on May 1, 2026, at his home in Brampton, ON, with Nadine and friends by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was born on March 29, 1963, in Brampton, ON, to James Donald Irons and Bonnie McMeekin. He lived a life filled with family and friends. Kevin had a passion for golf and was sponsored by Chrysler in his junior days playing golf and when it was too cold to continue chasing the golf ball, he turned his attention to hockey and chasing the puck with Cortraf Rangers and the Warriors. He touched the lives of many with his kindness and humor.
Kevin is survived by his long-time friend Nadine High, his adored Aunt Jesse Williams from Nova Scotia, and will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew him. Predeceased by his parents James Donald Irons and Bonnie McMeekin and sister Shannon.
He was a dedicated member of the Brampton Chrysler Assembly Plant for thirty-four years, upon his retirement.
We would like to send a special thank you to the Nurses from St. Elizabeth Health who went above and beyond for James.
A celebration of life will be held at the Legion – Branch 609 – 1133 Queen St. East in Brampton, ON, on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 2 pm – 6 p.m. All who knew and loved Tin Man are welcome to attend and share memories.
A golf tournament in Tin Man’s memory will be held September 19, 2026, at Caledon Golf and Country Club with details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the City of Brampton-Free Youth Sport Development - via Canadian Tire Jumpstart, in Kevin Irons memory.
