Jack Kar-Chit Lee, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, after a short but courageous struggle against cancer, passed away on Friday February 26, 2016 at the age of 75. Jack was born on February 8, 1941 in Hong Kong, grew up there and in his ancestral village of Toisan, China for a period during WWII. Jack moved to Canada in 1963 to study in university. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating in 1966 from the University of Manitoba in Brandon. It was there that he met his wife Rosa, and they were married in 1970. Moving back to Toronto, Jack had a long career teaching high school math, touching the lives of thousands of students at Westwood Secondary School, as well as other schools in Mississauga, Newmarket, and Manitoba. His son, Jason was born in 1975, and he took to teaching him how to swim, skate, and play badminton. Outside of work he enjoyed traveling the world, playing badminton and ping pong, doing tai chi and kung fu, and most of all, eating a good Chinese meal with family and friends. Jack retired in 2000 to enjoy the fruits of his hard work, and every year continued to travel to see more of the world. Last year, he had the joy of welcoming his first granddaughter, Abigail.
Jack will be missed by his family and friends, his wife Rosa, son Jason, daughter-in-law Ann, granddaughter Abby, and his best dog-friend, Sydney.
