Hibbert Smith, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born in Jamaica on March 19, 1943, Hibbert spent his working life as a skilled electrician. In 1964, he married his wife, Janette, and they remained married for 61 years. In 2022, he immigrated from Jamaica to Canada to spend his later years in the care of his son and daughter.
He was a devoted Christian who lived his life with quiet strength. In his final years, Hibbert faced the challenges of dementia with resilience.
He is survived by his wife, Janette; 6 children; 13 grand-children; 3 great grand-children, a brother and a sister. He will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him.
